I am more than a believer.

I am God's daughter. I am a worker and ambassador of Jesus Christ. I receive comfort and guidance from the Holy Spirit.

I am more than blessed and highly favored.

I am a mother to the nations. I'm your sister. I'm a work in progress. I'm here to share my story.

Who I Am

Thank you for visiting my webiste dedicated to my book, My God and Me: Listening, Learning and Growing on My Journey. I am LaShawnda Jones the writer and publisher. I am a child of God, obedient, faithful and pressing forward on my love walk.

Currently, I joyfully live in New York City. Born and raised in the Midwest, I have traveled extensively across North America collecting experiences and stories while maintaining my wholesome American-Girl-Next-Door open personality that continues to draw people wherever I go.  

In 2004, I started Jazzy Media LLC with the goal of publishing an annual full-figured fashion calendar, posters, gift cards and my literary works. Jazzy Media has developed into a company dedicated to exploring women issues with female voices and perspectives. Jazzy Media publications are VoLux Full-Figured Calendar, 2005 and 2007; Fantasies: A Metamorphosis of Sexual Attraction (poetry), 2005; and Clichés: A Life in Verse (poetry), 2007. From the begining, my publication work has led to speaking and workshop engagements. I will continue to speak about body image and self-esteem. 

In March 2008, I joined amNY as a blogger for their political blog, Politirazzi. amNY is a free daily newspaper with a 300,000 plus circulation in the metro New York City area. I covered the 2008 presidential campaigns, primaries and election. In 2009, I was selected as a contributor for Go, Tell Michelle, an anthology of letters and poems honoring First Lady Michelle Obama.

Published in September 2009, My God and Me: Listening, Learning and Growing on My Journey, is a collection of personal essays, chronicling my spiritual growth and development since relocating to the Big Apple from the Dairy Land in 2005. It explores lessons learned through various interactions and relationships on my transformative journey.
